From a student bedroomto a French brand.

My name is Yanis Moureau and I'm 20. Nearly three years ago, I was a student and had never worn a watch.

It all started with a watch kit.

October 2023. With no experience at all, I order a watch in separate parts, an Arabic Dial White, to try assembling it myself in my student bedroom. I buy the tools, watch videos, break several parts… and after four hours, it finally works.

That day, I fell in love. Not just with the watch, but with the idea of wearing a one-of-a-kind piece where I had chosen every detail, from the dial to the bracelet. Having an idea in mind and bringing it to life is what I love most.

I wanted to do it again, but above all to get better: I wanted 100% reliable watches you can count on every day.

I took two training courses to build my skills, then invested in professional equipment to set up my workshop.

From two friends to thousands of enthusiasts.

Two friends asked me to create a custom watch for each of them. That's how the idea was born: offering this service to everyone. I started posting short assembly videos on TikTok and Instagram. In April 2024, Yan Smode officially became a French company registered in Montpellier.

What followed went beyond anything I had imagined: several million views, hundreds of sales and incredibly positive feedback.

Today, I've finished my studies and I devote all my time to Yan Smode.

Assembly
Every watch is assembled in France, by me, to your configuration.
Demagnetization
The watch is demagnetized before regulation, so the accuracy measurement is reliable.
Regulation
Automatic movements are regulated on a timegrapher for lasting accuracy.
Water resistance
Every watch is pressure-tested in a tank filled with water to ensure its water resistance.
Packing the parcel
I pack every parcel myself, with the same care as the assembly.
